Does anyone know a safe, non-invasive way of getting rid of gallstones?

An ultrasound shows lots of little stones in my gall bladder, and I have had 4 horrible 'attacks' over the past 6 weeks- Feels like I'm having a heat attack!

My GP wants me to have my gall bladder removed, but I am totally against this unless there is absolutely no other way.

I've read about some remedies involving lots of apple juice, and another where you drink olive oil and lemon juice.

Has anyone had any success with these remedies, or can someone help with another effective, non-invasive way of dissolving or expelling the stones.

Please don't just tell me to have the surgery.

Thanks.

No, you cannot flush gallstones at all. Those are ingredients for a salad dressing.

If it were that easy, don't you believe that American insurance companies would force patients to use that inexpensive cure instead of going through costly medical surgery? Guess what: there are no peer-reviewed medical studies to show the efficacy of gallstone flushing. It doesn't work!

Cholecystectomy and ERCP are the only cures for gallstones. They are relatively safe and effective where called for. Some people can survive their entire lives with gallstones. It all depends upon your individual situation and diet.

See a real medical professional for proper advice.

I am a survivor of many medical procedures, including cholecycstectomy (gallbladder removal) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography or ERCP for short.

#1, you don't 'pass' gallstones, you pass kidney stones. The only place possible for a gallstone to pass would be the liver, and that just doesn't happen. #2, You should be consulting with your doctor first with a problem such as gallstones, as the management can be complicated. Sometimes medication is used to help dissolve them or break them up. Most of the time though gallstones are a sign of underlying disease, such as obesity, diabetes, and high cholesterol. The best way to treat them is to prevent further ones from growing by managing whatever health problems you have currently responsibly. However, quite commonly, they obstruct the bile duct coming out of the gall bladder, causing intense abdominal pain with very little relief. At this point, surgery is usually the best option, requiring a cholecystectomy (removal of the gall bladder). This is used for people having recurrent serious pain due to stone, or frequently recurring stones. Please, don't be irresponsible and at least talk to your doctor about an effective treatment BEFORE you decide to go and self-medicate with any other kind of regimen.
