Is using an electric mixer and whisk the same? or is there a difference?
I've got a recipe that calls for whisking. However, everytime I do I know I get extremely tired (cause I do big batches) so i was wondering if i used an electric mixer it would do the same job as a whisk. If not then it would be good to know as to why. Thanks!

Gotta be careful because an electric mixer may incorporate too much air into the mixture...A good example is egg whites. Using an electric mixer makes them fluffy while whisking(depending on the speed and time length) does not

Basically they do the same job. However, depending what you're doing, you have to watch that an electric beater doesn't overbeat because that can happen more easily and very quickly with an electric mixer.
