Parabola question. I've never done one before and I need some help.?

The equation is:Y=-3 x2-6x-5

So far I have

-2 Y= -3(-22 ) -6(-2)-5 - 12+12-5= -5 (-2,-5)

0 Y= -3(02 ) -6(0)-5 0-0-5= -5 (0,-5)

2 Y= -3(22 ) – 6(2)-5 -12 -12-5=-5 (2, -29)

I have the y intercept graphed correctly but how do I graph the vertex?

    to find the vertex use x = -b/2a where b = -6 a = -3

    x = 6/-6 = -1

    Y = -3(-1)^2 - 6(-1) -5

    Y = -3 + 6 - 5 = -2

    vertex (-1,-2).

    parabola opens down and has symmetry about the vertex.. If you have a point (0,-5) [one unit right and down five units] you will have a matching point (-2,-5) [one unit left and down five units]on the other side of the vertex.
