Aerial night footage of the Israeli boarding?

For those who have trouble analyzing this type of footage, there's descriptions of what you're seeing.

So that is it - Some released footage of the brutal lynching the Israeli commandos were subject to as soon as they landed on that ship. Personally I find it horrid and am surprised the commandos managed to wait until the last minute before using their weapons in self-defence. Your opinion..?

Update:

Paine - They were warned more than once. Prior to the convoy setting sail, they were told several times that Israel will not allow them to proceed and will take over the ships and bring them to an Israeli port if they try to breach Gaza's siege. More proof:

Misty - For once we agree. Lynching would not be enough for these murderers attacking Israeli soldiers who only came down to talk.

    "We went down there with bare arms, carrying only paint-ball weapons." - false. How could the reported incident of the weapon taken off the IDF trooper have occured then? "At one point one of the activists seized one of the soldiers' weapons and opened fire, the commando said."

    "We didn't expect this, we came with no weapons except our personal pistol which was supposed to be a last resort." - Make your mind up. On both subjects; not carrying actual firearms and being unprepared for violence.

    "We felt like in a lynch in Ramallah..." - International waters in no way resemble disputed lands and any comparison is fatuous.

    Robin Churchill, a professor of international law at the University of Dundee in Scotland, said the Israeli commandos boarded the ship outside of Israel's territorial waters.

    "As far as I can see, there is no legal basis for boarding these ships," Churchill said.

    For those who have trouble defining this type of act, here's the official international legal status:

    United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea

    Article101

    Definition of piracy

    Piracy consists of any of the following acts:

    (a) any illegal acts of violence or detention, or any act of depredation, committed for private ends by the crew or the passengers of a private ship or a private aircraft, and directed:

    (i) on the high seas, against another ship or aircraft, or against persons or property on board such ship or aircraft;

    (ii) against a ship, aircraft, persons or property in a place outside the jurisdiction of any State;

    (b) any act of voluntary participation in the operation of a ship or of an aircraft with knowledge of facts making it a pirate ship or aircraft;

    (c) any act of inciting or of intentionally facilitating an act described in subparagraph (a) or (b).

    Article103

    Definition of a pirate ship or aircraft

    A ship or aircraft is considered a pirate ship or aircraft if it is intended by the persons in dominant control to be used for the purpose of committing one of the acts referred to in article 101. The same applies if the ship or aircraft has been used to commit any such act, so long as it remains under the control of the persons guilty of that act.

    I really don't know what to think.

    I guess they were a little hacked off with people turning up with guns and hijacking their ships.

    I wonder what announcements if any were made before boarding the ship? If there were none, scared people might react as seen. Self-defence could be argued for either side ...

    Edit: Cheers for the clip, i'll keep an eye on the news and see what happens. I know very little about the circumstances and would not take sides on the issue, but at face value the announcement seemed reasonable.

    This was a set up from the word go. Hamas et al badly need to win the PR war. Israel could have sunk those ships by torpedo, rocket or gunfire from the start if they had so wished - don't let anyone kid you otherwise. Perhaps it would have been better if they had.

  • one what proof have we that is the ship in question and not a pre staged event that the Israeli's have made in other words I wanna see over head shot of the actual ship involved with night vision to compare is it the same vessel. Israel is fast to lie about anything they wish anyway so i want to see more proof than a very very suspicious video that hey realise so fast. Tell me where the sixty year old woman is in that video that was shot dead was she the one carry the big pole I suppose the Israeli navy think it was

    Only came down to talk? On a day of Israeli spin, that must get the prize.

    One of the muslims attackers grabbed their guns so why shouldn't they defend themselves about people who want to die in the name of their God.

    The outrage about this makes me laugh. Ten people dying is horrific to them but there have been 15367 terrorist attacks since 9/11 and the silence is deafening http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/ Last week about 80 people died in a mosque attack yet no condemnation of that.

    i saw those 'aid bringers' attacking the israelis

    if they had had their way how many israelis would be dead and how many of the outraged on here would be celebrating?

    this is one sided , we can see there is isrealis on the ship already being attacked and the footage only shows part of what happened , you think it is easy for people to attack an person armed with an weapon,i think they were provoked in the begining....isrealis have attacked innocent people before....

    to the post abover.... muslim attackers :@ .. whats that got to do with anything, there were other people onboard including english and greek people.. these people are not attakers they are there to offer support to innocent victims in palestine..
