karle, you have no clue to what your talking about what so ever. If what you said had any kind of truth to it, then tell me why, www.mp3car.com sells carputers? Go learn about what your talking about.

The other 2 go get a clue, my god.

You can do this, and it is very doable. You will want to check out mp3car.com, they will have the answers your looking for. Me, myself, I am unsure of how to do this since I have never done this sort of setup at all. But I can tell you that it is very doable, and I know of a few people that have done exactly what your wanting to do. The tablet to remain portable, so you do not have to leave it in the car and possibly get stolen. If you do this the right way it will have rather good sound.

There's a few things you could do. I'm assuming you don't want to void your warranty by installing an aftermarket head unit..

Or, if you have already have an aftermarket head unit, you could buy a Carputer and shoot all of your existing laptop information (songs) over to it, then run it into an auxiliary channel on your head unit. You could use a touchscreen LCD with interfacing software to run it from the console. Unfortunately, you would have to hide a keyboard somewhere.

If you're stuck with stock (this also applies to an aftermarket), I would suggest running an iPod through an adapter to your auxiliary input on the OEM head unit, or even the 1/8" audio out from the laptop. As mentioned before, the sound will not be as loud as a normal CD, but you would accomplish the effect.

i use to do this cause i lost all my cd's. there is something you can but at wal-mart or any electronics store. its called a fm transmitter. you plug it into the headphones part of your computer. then you set the radio station on the transmitter (it tells you what station to put it on) then you set the radio to that same station. there you have it. music from your pc. oh, its like 20 bucks. you might find it cheaper. i got mines from walgreens.

would still need a head unit......i mean u could run system with audio outputs form ur laptop but sound would b really low......i mean even cheap head units produce about 50 watts per channel or so.....ur laptop produces about 4....

but u would need an audio cable that would hook to the speaker connections from ur laptop....would probably have to make one.......
