Transferring VHS tapes to DVD (Windows Movie Maker)?

yeah , windows media player just support wmv file very well , so you need to convert them before importing if it is not wmv file. here are some guides on converting.

As I know, windows movie maker doesn't supports converting VHS to DVD. If you want to do that, this tutorial will show you the steps, it works pretty well for me.

Windows Movie Maker supports these video formats:

* Video files: .asf, .avi, .wmv

* Movie files: MPEG1, .mpeg, .mpg, .m1v, .mp2

so I think you just need a right converter to convert downloaded video to mov, mp4, then you can put the converted video into imovie program. I am using AVS Video Converter which can do this well, it also can convert any videos or audios between different formats, have a try by yourself.
