is it more expensive to get a repair done at a dealership then just a shop?If not would be the most expensive?

its to fix a rear tail lamp if it matters

Update:

I got hit in a parking lot and need a estimate so they can pay for it, thats why i was asking. Not because I'm not smart enough to do it. Thanks

Almost 99.9% always more from a dealership.

It's more expensive at a dealership because they use new factory parts. Not used or chinese knockoff parts. They also hire the best mechanics with the most training and have the best equipment. That's why they're so expensive. That said, I'd get the tail light installed by a well known body shop (usually dealerships have horrible body shops and independents or chains are much better).

You get what you pay for.

Can't you just replace the tail light yourself? It's not rocket science.
