I dunno about the first bit, but if you want to scrunch your hair, the best way to do it is after you've first washed it, because its easier to get to go messy. Get some hair mouse, preferably foamy because otherwise your hair will be really stiff X) then just put a blob in your hand and grab your hair, and make your hand into a fist whilst holding your hair in it. Do this so as your making the fist your hand is going upwards, so from neck upwards.

I hope this made sense (:

You never know till you attempt. Do it to ascertain in the experience that your hair likes it. :) once you do use shampoo attempt one which is meant to make sparkling your hair and do away with product buildup. verify you utilize conditioner after cos those form of shampoos would properly be drying. some examples: clever Clarifying shampoo, Pantene Clarifying, organic Essences Degunkify or Drama sparkling, Paul Mitchell Tea Tree, Giovanni Tea Tree. VO5 makes a clarifying one, too i think of. you have been given quite some good suggestions already by skill of others yet i'm hoping this nevertheless enables. :)
