Gay marriage and bigamy?
OK say a guy marries another man in Vermont (since it is 100% legal there) then moves to Texas and marries a woman. Is it still bigamy since Texas doesn't recognize the marriage at all?
I smell a loop-hole

Oh HO! Interesting. Guess he just better stay out of Vermont since they WOULD recognize both!

It is still bigamy because it is him taking another spouse. While Texas might not legally recognize the marriage, they won't hesitate to call him a bigamist if they find out about.

Sounds like a courtcase waiting to happen lol. I'm a Texan myself and I would call it bigamy personally, but then again I support gay marriage.

Interesting point, Kudos. I think it would still be bigamy, at least where gay marriages are recognized.

I think he would be wanted in VT for bigamy regardless, but it's still interesting... I wonder if Texas would transport him to VT to face the charges...

Good question but IMO it would be bigamy. Nice one for the lawyers!
Marriage should only be between one man and one woman - anythings else is a counterfiet marriage and should not be recognized.

Lol, good point!
I think it would be a loop hole but I also smell two failing marriages!

Yeah, you're clever..it does seem like a loophole. But best not to do it because lawyers have ways of finding loopholes in loopholes lol.
