Top 25 Most Played and others Completely Inaccurate?

I have an iPod Touch 2nd generation and when I plug it in everything runs perfectly. Except for the amount of times each song is played. Some are believable, like I'm sure I've listened to a particular song at least 100 times. But in the Top 25, there's some songs that say they've been played over 1000 times, and in my normal playlists some songs that haven't been played at all?

What the heck?
