    i have a grey.

i tried orvis........made his hair stick straight up and it looked dry and and brillo like.

the best result i have had is with johnsons baby wash. i give it a 9. cheap and it makes him shine like a pearl!

ez to rinse out, and does not leave a residue. can use eevry day to cut the sweat after he is worked, and bathed.

i use the orvis on the poop stain on his side where he sleeps.

    Orvus (shampoo concentrate)

    About $20

    9 to a 10

I use a handful to put into a bucket of water, mix it with whitening shampoo, and my grey is just about squeaky clean after a good scrub and rinse!

    Quic Silver/Farnam brand whitener

    About $15 or less

    9 to a 10

This is a must for my grey gelding.

Mane & Tail Conditioner (the shampoo is also great)

    $10 or less?

    8ish

I use the conditioner in my gelding's tail, and it works pretty well. I mainly put it in after I rinse out the shampoo, and leave it in.

You have to trust me on this one, baby shampoo. It's awesome. You can wash your entire horse with it, they come out clean, shiny, soft, and smelling great. It's fantastic. If your horse gets dandruff often (I have a pony that does!) Head and Shoulders is perfect too. There's really no use in buying a horse shampoo unless it's medicated, they are over priced and never as good as human shampoos, which are just fine for horses.

I use human shampoo. I usually look for something that is shampoo and conditioner in one, and something cheap. I prefer a store brand copy of Pantene Pro-V, but will use whatever's on hand. Last week we washed our ponies in strawberry flavor Suave for Kids.

My horses have always looked great after washing, no matter which kind of shampoo I've used.

    *Mine Is*

    1.Brand Name: - Mane & Tail Shampoo and Mane'n Tail Anti-Bacterial Shampoo

2.Cost: - At TractorSupply store is can cost you around $6.99 for the regular bottle to $14.99 for the medicated kind. At Wal-mart is costs about the same, but can varie in different states.

3.Out of 10 [10 being highest] How Does You Horse Look After You Used It? [1-Awful, 10-AMAZING] - I would say a 9 or 10 because it makes their coat/mane/tails soft, shiny, manageable and the medicated kind does really well and gets rid of rain rot and other types of skin conditions.

    4. Do You Prefur Horse Shampoo Or Human ? - Well the regular kind is both, you can use it for your horse to bath him in and or you're self to wash your hair in.

    Hope this helps! Tori :)

well at the moment i don't have a horse, but i loaned a horse and he was kept at a show jumping yard, we used gallop colour shampoo, it costs around £5.88, and the horses looked gorgeous after a good bath, their goats were gleaming and spotless. I would rate it 10. it's the best i have ever used.
