1994 Lincoln Town Car will not turn over?

Lights come on, radio, etc. No sound from the engine. Any ideas? we have checked fuse and wires.

This car is in mint condition and runs very well. I stopped to get gas and put unleaded fuel in and it would not turn over. beautiful car still sitting at the gas station while we sit at home wondering what happened to the car!!

There are many possible things that could be wrong, but here are some of the more obvious.

    1) There is a solenoid which is connected to the side of the car next to the battery which sends a signal to the starter to turn to start the car. If this has gone bad, there is no signal going to kick the starter and activate it.

    2) The starter could be malfunctioning or completely gone. Given that this car is over 15 years old, and the factory starter may still be installed, this is a greater probability. Since the starter could be bad, this would not cause any sounds to be coming from the engine and the car will not start whenever you attempt to start the car.

There may also be something beyond the two obvious factors listed above. There could also be a problem within the engine which has caused it to lock up; however, if the car is in as good condition as you have made it seem here, then this may not be one of the problems with the car.
