Can a baby punch through a soft cervix at 35 weeks without being in labor?
This is my third child, just so everyone knows I'm not a new mom.
About 10 minutes ago the baby was moving around and suddenly it felt as if its hand punched through my cervix. I don't believe I am dilated but I do have a soft cervix, as my doctor put it. Is that at all possible? It was very sharp and still hurts a little, nearly knocked me on my bottom when it happened.
Thanks I thought as much but google was getting me no where.

No. The baby is encased in a bag of waters, so he couldn't "punch through." You're getting close to your due date, and it's just going to get more and more uncomfortable, and you're going to start feeling alot more pressure in your pelvis until it's time for delivery.
I've also recently read that successive pregnancies often cause more severe symptoms for women. I am 32 weeks with my second, and I have recently begun to feel like my insides are going to fall out through my vagina.... (TMI).

No! LOL! They can certainly try it tho! I had a couple of the same experiences, I know how uncomfortable it is! Even a soft cervix is still closed (unless you are dilated) so they arent going to punch thru it. Even if you were dilated, they would have to punch pretty hard and you would have to be at least 4 cms (I think) before they might go thru the membranes. But on the other hand, the amniotic sac is actually quit tough and really has to be poked hard with something sharp to be broken. There are many babies born still in the sac, or babies who are crowning still in the sac, till the doctor breaks it (makes labor and delivery easier)....
No worries.

i don't understand. i'm going to be 38 weeks on Wednesday besides so feels like we share a due date! i'm -a million station, 2 cm dilated and that i haven't any theory related to effacement. i understand my cervix is somewhat gentle. With my son I went into labor on his due date. i assume there is not any thank you to somewhat tell. i'm specific you're irritating to make sure labor initiate, me too.... now we merely play the waiting interest.

I think the bag would have had to break if he was to get his hand through like that. So if there was no gush of water, I don't think you're in labor. It was probably just a hard kick/punch.
