will the front forks of a 1997 Suzuki intruder vs800 fit a 2002 Suzuki intruder vs800?

I crashed my 2002 Suzuki Intruder vs800 and need new front forks and i found a good deal on forks from a 1997 Suzuki Intruder vs800. Will they fit?

Update:

I want to put the 97 forks into the 02 brackets. The inner tube that connects to the brackets are the same. But the brackets and outer tubes have different serial #s. Will it still work.

Inner Tube

502805-001 (1997)

502805-001 (2002)

Upper Bracket

504477-001 (2002)

504479-001 (1997)

(2002)

TUBE,OUTER,R

503113-001

TUBE,OUTER,L

503259-001

(1997)

TUBE,OUTER RH

503112-001

TUBE,OUTER LH

503258-001

Maybe this will help

If the diameter of the fork tube, length, and axle bolt diameter are the same, then yes. I dont think they changed much between the years.

Needs carbs cleaned probably means fuel was left in them to turn to varnish. will need soak with very "hot" solvent. Fuel tank may need to be cleaned and flushed too. Might be other engine problems being masked as "dirty carbs". tell the seller to have the carbs cleaned - then you want to hear it run.
