How to word invitations, please help?

Hello,

I would love some input on how to word invitations. We will be having a 1st birthday/baptism party for my son. His birthday is June 18th, baptism ceremony will be June 27th, and the party will be july 4th. I bought the do it yourself invitations that you print out right at home, but I'm having trouble trying to decide how to word it. Only some invitations will have the actual ceremony information on it (because it's being done on a seperate weekend, I certainly don't expect everyone to come to the church) so I was only going to put the church info on invites for the immediate family. The invites should also say somewhere to bring bathing suit and towel (backyard style bbq/pool party). Please help, and be specific, as to exactly what you would write.

Thanks so much for your suggestions in advance.

I'd do two completely different wording's for the people invited to the ceremony and the party and for the people who are invited to the party.

for those invited to the baptism:

Please join us to celebrate the christening of our son

    John Jacob Smith

    at the St. Andrew's Church

    on June 27, 2010 at 2 o'clock pm

On July 4th, we will celebrate his baptism

    and his first birthday

    with friends and family

at 100 Main Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

    at 2 o'clock pm

RSVP to Mary by June 20, 2010

    555-555-5555

Bring a bathing suit and towel for the fourth of July festivities!

for the people who are invited to just the birthday/baptism party:

John Jacob Smith is turning one!

We are celebrating his baptism and his birthday

on July 4th, 2010 at our home

at 100 Main Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

    at 2 o'clock pm

RSVP to Mary by June 20, 2010

    555-555-5555

Bring a bathing suit and towel for the fourth of July festivities!

hope I helped. just went through an invitation nightmare planning my wedding/rehearsal dinner/bridal shower/son's first birthday, all within 2 months! :)
