High Speed Connection Problems?
I have 1.5 DSL connection to the net and very often I get a message IE cannot display web PAGE. And sometimes when I connect to Yahoo it connects me to a travel agency page. POP ups galore too when I use standard search engine. Any thoughts what might be wrong. When I try to connect to a web page again it still take me to one I don't want to be at. Thanks in advance for help.

You have possible viruses and malware.
Go with Firefox. Use a pop up blocker and download and add on called noscript. It will stop some of these scripts that think they have to run and take over your computer, like advertisements with annoying flashing.
First, update your virus program and run it. Then if you don't have Spybot, get it; it's free. Run that.
Wouldn't hurt to do a google search for various free malware programs on google and install one or two.
After the virus check, run spybot. Then, do scandisc when you reboot. Get a program called CCleaner which is free. It will catch a lot of these problems.
After running these programs, to to start/run/msconfig. Set your computer to run in safemode.
Run all those programs one at a time again in safemode.
After that, go to msconfig again and selective startup. Some things you don't need to have running like real play update service. Do you really need to know the latest real player update if you rarely use that program?
You may want to check all the boxes at first to get back out of safe mode and boot up. After booting up into normal mode. Go back into msconfig and startup programs. Do a google search on each item to decide whether or not you need it running.
A good registry cleaner would help too but that's another story.

Sound's like your PC is infected with spyware and adware. Use a program called Spybot search and destroy to clean it up. http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
Also make sure you have a good antivirus installed. AVG is free and works well.
If you still have problems give your DSL provider a call. You might have a week DSL signal or wiring problems that is causing your connection to drop.
Hope this helps :)

the 1st project is which you put in the AOL virus... ;) suitable click on the 'my community places' and decide residences. this might show the adapters on your laptop. If there is one there that announces "Aol", suitable click on it, and decide 'disable'. next suitable click on the single that announces 'community section connection' and decide residences. Scroll down and double click on the single that announces 'TCP/IP information superhighway protocol'. make beneficial that the dots are interior the 'decide for immediately' possibilities. Then close that window, and suitable click on the 'community section connection' lower back. This time decide for 'restore'. optimistically, that gets you going
