why does spaghetti and meat sauce seem watery on the plate no matter how thick it is?
i cook the sauce until it is thick and i drain the pasta thoroughly but once on the plate it seems to be watery?
i guess nobody listened when i said i drained the pasta thoroughly...maybe if i say in a colander over a pot..there is no water left on the pasta!

Are you draining only and not rinsing?
Is your pasta cooked al dente?
Overcooked pasta is a possible cause.
With some recipes, adding some of the pasta water
helps thicken the sauce.

You might not have drained the pasta all the way? I always coat my pasta with a little olive oil after it's drained. That way it doesn't stick. Then you can plate the pasta, add some parmesan cheese, swirl that around and then add the meat sauce. Should not be watery then and taste great!

Then the sauce is not as thick as you thought it was or the spaghetti wasn't drained as well as you thought it was.
