Do tattoo artists not like it if you alter a design?

I found a tattoo design online that I really love except for a few things. I saved it and altered it using photoshop, but I don't know if I take it to a tattoo shop, if they'll let me use it as it was not "purchased" and was altered from the original. Will they even ask? Will they tattoo this design on me if they don't know who originally drew it?

If you went to the original artist & their temperament was one to be offended by their work being altered, they may have an issue.

Tattoos are pretty personal things, it's not really a copyright driven kind of industry. Like a doctor or any other professional who gives such a personal service, shop around until you find one you are happy with. Your money, your choice.

In my opoion it really shouldn't matter if you have alter the design or not because it is something that you are going have placed on your body forever.

The artist doesn't care where you get your ideas from. Some of my tattoo work was copied from library books (this was years ago) and me and my artist customized it for me....
