    not go to war where 58,000 americans get killed. The Gulf of Tonkin was an inside job. They have come out and admitted it. It's declassified documents now.,

    That nation would be screwed. The attack itself would be responded to... meaning if a plane shot at the boat that plane would cease to exist. Then the politicians would decide whether or not to go to war (which would also depend on what the nation responded to the incident as well), and in this day and age where most politicians lack guts, spines, and b@lls, that probably wouldn't happen.
