Unless you have 2 drivers, it will take you 2 days, so plan to stop in Nhill. There are good motels and caravan parks there, and plenty of pubs with good meals all the way along the highway.

There is nothing of real significance to see on the way.

Any of the country pubs around the mid way mark are good. Nhill is half way so either there or further on at Horsham, which is bigger and offers more variety. Don,t want to do a pub, then where the big trucks gather is usually indicative of good tucker. No landmark steak joints on the road anymore. Used to be several, but with reduced travel times they went out of vogue

Source(s): 2 days mate! Waddya on? Pushbike? Its only an 8 hour trip.

There are no "SteakHouses" on the way, you will find Roadhouses that will serve meals and the odd Pub in the odd town, its the most boring drive you will ever take, Ive done it more than once and its crap, have fun.

there are plenty of places to eat. sorry i don't know if any of them are good. a pub is probably a safe bet (except for the beer and driving aspect)
