first we need some additional details. What kind of network do you have in your home, wired or wireless....do you even have a network in your home?
The easiest would be if you had a wireless network as the Wii has a built-in WiFi adapter. If you have a wired connection, then you'd need to purchase a Nintendo LAN adapter to connect to the internet.

Well it depends on if you have a wireless router or not. If you do just go to the wii menu on the lower left, then go to wii settings on the right, click on the arrow on your right, then go to internet, click connection settings, wireless, find your network, and enter your passphrase or key, test the connection and you should connect no problem. If you don't have a wireless router you can get the wii usb ethernet adapter.
