Why don't we have a "Honor English Ancestry Day" in USA?

After all it was English Americans fighting against Brits to build this great Nation.

English Americans = the one and only true Americans

English American is an oxymoron. You're either English or American. It always amuses me when I see people calling themselves 'Irish American' because one on their ancestors came from Ireland two hundred years ago. It's like me calling myself Viking British. Pathetic. Do you hate your country so much that you don't want to be associated with it?

Uh, Independence Day? Lots of people like setting off fireworks... but it is meant to "Honor our Ancestry" I suppose

As for the other half of your question, our nation has basically prided itself on being a nation made up of Immigrants, so I don't think there is any such thing as a "true American" until you've lived in America for a while.

    Live in America=American
