College Beg. Algebra question...please help?

If Venus is 32.6 million miles farther from the sun than Mercury, then Earth is 25.8 million miles farther from the sun than from Venus. When the total distances from these three planets from the sun is 199.0 million miles, how far away from the sun is Mercury?

I am not too sure how to set up the word problem. Once I set it up I can solve it. Please help. Thanks!

    Let m represent distance from sun to mercury, v the distance from sun to venus and e distance from sun to earth. You have 3 equations and 3 unknowns to solve:

    1. v=32.6+m

    2. e=25.8+v

    3. m+e+v=199

    Substitute righthand side of 1 for v in 2:

    e=25.8+32.6+m

    Now substitute righthand side of this for e in 3 and righthand side of 1 for v in 3. Now you have one equation and one variable (m). Solve for m.
