Helpful home remedies?

Just figured I'd share some helpful info, and see if anyone has any helpful home tips on treating common problems or diagnosing them.

If you cover a wart with duct tape for 6 weeks, it cuts off the air supply feeding the wart, and kills it.

If you put 1ml of hydrogen peroxide into the ear, it will bubble up if there is an ear infection and won't bubble if the ears are clear (yes it's perfectly safe to put in the ears, we use it to help flush out excess wax in the drs office).

Does anyone else have helpful home remedies?

Update:

To "K"--- Well wether it's actually been proven by the "experts" duct tape therapy is something we use in the pediatric office where I work, and the parents are always satisfied with the results. Secondly....Peroxide bubbles much much more when it comes in contact with bacteria and blood, both of which can be found in pus that causes ear infections

if you have a sore throat, you can gargle with a cup of warm water and a tablespoon of vinegar, then swallow it. It works for me everytime.

if you have some sewing skills, get a bag of rice and sew up a little fabric pillow big and strong enough to hold the rice (pour the rice out of the bag lol). you can microwave the packet and voila you have yourself a heating pack

"Duct tape occlusion therapy is not yet proven to be effective, with some studies showing some effectiveness, and others finding no significant efficacy" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duct_tape_occlusion_t... , and the peroxide will bubble with normal ear wax, but, okay. Glad you enjoyed ordering a book off the telly.

Hydrogen peroxide bubbling only indicates that there is ear wax. It cannot tell you if the ear is infected or not.

Not a "remedy" per se but putting vinegar in the rinse cycle makes clothes soft and bright.
