If some see the world through rose coloured glasses, and everything looks peachy, what do you call it when?

someone sees the opposite? Crap colored glasses, that make everything look like sh*t? Which is worse in your opinion? someone who tries to smear your rosy tint with their crap? or someone who tries to wipe some of the crap out of your eyes so you can see whats rosy?

Personally I think life stinks enough without spreading it around, don't you agree? How do people live when everything they see they make the worst of?

Update:

Good thoughts and ideas everyone.. I agree a little with all of you. I think that either extreme could be unhealthy. I think though that there is something to be learned from every bad experience, and that if only we can turn it to good instead of dwelling on it in misery, we can make things easier on ourselves. I think my glasses are mostly rosy with a spattering of crap which I occasionally wipe off.. ahh ha sort of middle of the road I guess.. I don't pretend the crap isn't there but I also don't focus on it.. Peace!

Personally, I'm having a little trouble getting past the image of having my eyes smeared with crap. :)

I think so many people get caught up in their negative self fulfilling prophecies that they don't know how to disentangle themselves from the downward spiral. I have a strong belief that people gravitate unconsciously towards the things they fear and believe, but the real problem is that so many people don't even realize that they built their own craptastic circumstances. Everyone is so quick to blame anything but themselves for a bad situation, but nobody wants to internalize and give a moment to consider that their own negative focus might be the root of their troubles.

This is a difficult question. You will always find good and bad where you look for it. I would rather look for the good in something than the bad in it, but I'd have to be forced to only look at the good and be made to ignore potentially bad and destructive situations. But it would also be fairly horrible to only see the bad because you'd be constantly depressed and eventually self destruct. If I was going to have to choose though I'd choose the rose tinted glasses because that would make life for me and the people around me much more pleasant. The "glasses" I have on at the moment could probably use a little rose tinting anyway.

They end up with consequences for seeing life so negativly. I have been married for many years & I am going through some bad things right now. I have worked hard to really look at what all my beliefs are & what I am feeling & thinking. I am looking at everything in my life after spending the past years of spacing out after a tragedy & only being able to cope with staying alive.

This morning I found out that things that I threw out never left my property. So I threw out a bathroom mirror cause it was broke. I am seeing the symbolism of things being broke & me being broke so I am getting rid of everything that is not of any value.

I am doing everything to make my life one of peace, love, joy, abundant prosperity & all good stuff but my husband is focused on watching violent shows & continueing to think the thoughts that don't work.

He comes from a family of miserable people who think they are victims. Life is hell for them.

I call people who see things with rose couloured glasses as people who can be in denial but if they can see things as they are & find the good that is being positive & wise.

When someone sees only the negative and ugly, I would say they are unaware, or "asleep". Sure there are negatives in the world, but as you say, why focus on it?? I don't judge people for seeing only the negatives. I feel compassion for them. I also feel grateful for the fact I am lucky enough to appreciate what is beautiful in the world. The more one CHOOSES to look for the beauty in the world, the more one sees!! I neither waste energy trying to make people see what I see, or stop them trying to make me see what they see. I just keep on looking at the world in my own positive way, and trust this will attract people who have an inner curiosity to try it sometime!

    it's called being a pessimist

I think people who only see through rose coloured glasses can be annoying and ignorant, only looking at the good but not facing the facts when they're negative

but at the same time, those who are always negative are just as bad, they never see the good in anything and can be quite depressive

they take drugs to escape from they're self-imposed sh*tty reality

or find a hobby that they really enjoy doing

    have sex

basically do anything, if you hate life anyway what do you have to lose?

drop your inhibitions and do what you can to feel happy, even if just for an instant.

    good luck =D

  • those who try to drag you down into negativity and mediocrity are self serving and troublesome, Try to stay well away from those people because they will eventually bring you down, ... I used to be a pessimist, I still have a slight urge toward being that way, but I prefer to make merry and laugh if possible as if we give in to reality sometimes it overwhelms us with its weight and .... ya know I just lost my train of thought... wouldn't ya know...

    anyway,

    smile, and be happy!

I think that's called being jaded.

Maybe they live for the vindication of their dysphoria.

Crappy things have to happen to some one, why not them?
