Is it OK to dress casual in a rehearsal dinner?
My children will be flower girl and ring bearer. We are going to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner tomorrow, and I was wondering if I should wear a more formal dress or just casual?
Thank you all!

Casual! Unless the dinner is at a fancy restaurant (even then don't wear formal attire, just wear something nice & classy). but if its just a normal rehearsal & dinner, then casual is JUST fine!

A rehearsal dinner is usually more casual than the wedding, but most people still dress up a little (casual skirts/dresses for women, khakis and collared shirts for men - no jeans or sneakers).
Take your cue from the venue. If the rehearsal dinner is at a nicer restaurant, be a little more dressy. If it's a BBQ in the groom's backyard, be a little more casual. If you're really not sure, give the bride, mother of the bride, or maid of honor a call and ask what the attire is for the rehearsal dinner.

You really need some guidance from the bride & groom.
Does the invitation indicate the level of formality?
Sometime these dinners can be very formal dinners where a nice dress is appropriate, other times they can be as casual as a pizza party.
My rehearsal dinner was casual and I included in the invite "picnic-style dinner" and put a note at the bottom of the invite "dress: casual" so that nobody would have any questions.

A nice casual dress will work.
Rehearsal dinners are meant to be a casual atmosphere, unless noted otherwise.

It depends on the wedding party and what they are wearing. If it's a formal affair dress formally, if it's casual dress casual. However, most rehearsal dinners are considered business casual, meaning nice skirt and blouse, summery dress, slacks and nice top. Hope this helps.

Rehearsal: you don't have to be primp or proper about it at all. At my wedding all my guys showed up in jeans, snowmobile suits, whatever. Its just to practice for the big day. You don't hafta be perfect. The dinner afterward should just be priming for the bachelorette party afterward! So wear something you can sleep in!! I wouldn't worry about a dress. Just go in some dress pants, and a nice shirt, you should be fine. Just make sure you dress up for the wedding, ya know in your bridesmaid outfit. dont stress it, your just going to a rehearsal, not the wedding yet.. you don't hafta be too fancy!

formal is not necessary BUT you should go towards a nice cocktail dress ""look"" .... casual is not the way ............ and it does depend on the place that the dinner is to be served ... the regular black dress that you wear to parties can be jazzed up with a scarf and that will do fine.. besides if you look good then your children will behave better at the rehearsal and dinner......

It really depends where the dinner is. At a restaurant, at someone's house, in a park, etc.
In any case, to play it safe it's good to go with a simple dress, a skirt and nice shirt, slacks and nice shirt or possibly a nice pair of jeans and a nice shirt.

Casual is fine. Unless it's a fancy restaurant that the dinner is being held at. Then I would go by their dress code.
