Bored, ideas to help keep my sanity please?

Last week my fiance started a new job, he always used to work days, and we were always home together as a family at night. Now he's got to leave for work at 3pm and doesn't get home until after 2 am. My son is almost 1, and I absolutly love spending time with him (I only work part time so I can spend as much as possible). My problem is, playing with the same toys over and over again, day after day is starting to bore me. We need to be home by 7ish to be able to do his bath and bedtime routine. I have no close parks to walk to, and yes, we can go for a walk through the neighborhood, but that only consumes about 30 minutes before we both start getting bored. I love going out shopping, but then I spend money I don't really need to spend. I've looked for mommy and me groups and play groups in my area, and haven't been able to find any. Any suggestions on what I can do?

Thanks

Update:

To Passion----I do teach my son, and he is very advanced developmentally. We teach colors, body parts, abc, shapes etc. How dare you suggest I'm going to raise a dumb child, b/c I can guarantee you that my IQ is far superior to yours, especially judging by your ignorant, low class comment! Not everything needs to be "teaching" time. It is ok to have fun. Forgive for having a hard time adjusting to my fiance's new hours and us not having the family time like we used to.

Many time the library will have events for young kids. (story time, etc.). Even just going to the library and looking at books will be fun for him and you. This is free!!

Get a small kiddy pool for your back yard so you can sit outside in the summer time. A one year old will love that

See if there are any neighborhood family's with kids the same age. Just hanging around another adult can help and your son will have a friend.

Do your grocery shopping in the evening when your husband is not home.

I have a one year old as well and what helps me is to have one planned thing everyday and then everything else just falls into place.

How about neighbors? Anyone who has children, where you can get together and spend time doing fun things. Or a good friend that you can do those things with. Or the Library has "Story time".

  • Swimming?

    Tumble Tots?

Baking? (My sister works at a play group and the 1 year olds there make scones as a treat)

    Painting?

Making Dens out of two chairs and a blanket?

Use your imagination, there are tons of things to do.

now stop playing with the toys and read to your child. teach him abc and 123.

use your common sense. it's ppl like u who raise dumb children because u always picture the kid as a baby. teach him how to count and write?? i cant believe u cannot think of this.

hide and seek, maybe a game of basketball, soccer, or baseball, tic tac toe, get a pet to spend some time taking care of it, idk, I always had a park in the neighborhood.
