How drastic does breakfast affect metabolism?

I sleep in until around 10 and by then i figure i'll just wait for lunch. How drastic is it affecting my metabolism though, because i used to weigh 101 in the morning and now i'm at 103.5 after only two days. I'm a girl if that helps.

Moreso than you'd think actually...that's what kick starts your body for the day and although it's not a good idea to skip any meals, that's the one you should work the hardest not to skip...

Even if you eat a late b'fast because you get up late, then just back up your lunch and supper (and snacks) and spread them out over the time you are awake...there's no rule that says lunch must be at noon...if you eat b'fast at 10am when you get up, have small snack at noon, lunch at 2pm, snack at 4pm, and supper around 6pm (try to eat every 2 - 3 hrs)...maybe another snack before bedtime...shoot for eating about 6 times a day, to keep your metabolism running higher all day long...

Don't look that closely at your weight, water makes a huge difference.

Don't sleep in, go to bed early.

Don't eat after 7pm, ALWAYS EAT BREAKFAST or you will get hugely fat.

Not eating breakfast makes your body save calories for the rest of the day, by programming it for saving, rather than burning.

100 is pretty light, even if you're short.

More important than anything is the quality and quantity of what you eat.

  • If you are worried about your metabolism you can add seaweed to your diet---ideally it would have to be a brown seaweed extract, but you can also buy brown seaweed(Wakame)at any Asian grocery store--it is fairly inexpensive. Adding seaweed will supply the body with much needed minerals and trace elements, as well as iodine--and that will get your thyroid to work properly--and with a properly working thyroid you have a faster metabolism......

Going without eating for any length of time tells your body to conserve energy and slows your metabolism.
