do any of you have any suggestions on animals for me?

OK so last night i discovered that my hamster that was 3 years or more died. about 3 or 4 month ago my hermit grab of 2 years died. also about 1 month ago my fish died that i had for about 2 1/2 years. i feel that i am responsible and had these animals for awhile and they did not die because i dint take care of them just simply because they were old or for any other reasons. but now my room just feels kinda lonely with out them i here. so im looking for a good small pet ideas i do not want another hamster, or hermit crab just because the hermit crab are so boring and do nothing and the hamster well i just don't want another one of those. i do not want any kinda of reptile like snakes, frogs, or lizards. but i do want something i can have fun with and can train that dose not come close to the responsibility of a dog or a cat to were i have to worry about them going out side and getting lost. also i am thinking about maybe getting more fish but i want fish that are brightly colored and arnt aggressive to other fish. do you have any ideas on animals that are good for me im 14 so im at good age and is able to take care of the animals.

Update:

Update 2:

we already have a family dog just dont want to deal with the potty training plus my mom wont let me get another one

I dont have a guinea pig, so i dont know.... i think they'd be cute but they're way more work than a cat or dog. You have to brush them and stuff. And they're noisy, they squeak. I hear they keep people up at night. I would say a rat would be good for you because they're cute, they are easy, you can teach them tricks, you can litter train them, and they're all around good pets. :)

    Good luck!

Im trying to get my mom to let me have a rat, but she says no. Are hamsters good pets? email me at twixgirl14@yahoo.com :)thanks

Also, i would say maybe a degu, a sugarglider, or a chinchilla. I have no experiences with any of them but i hear they make good pets. Besided i know chinchillas you have to give dust baths.

You need something less boring. Btw, CONGRATS! Those pets actually lasted a lot longer than they normally do! If you feel the responsibility of a dog or cat is too great, try one of the following: bird, lizard, or guinea pig.

Birds are colourful, cute and actually become really close to their owner. Depending on the breed, they can last anywhere from about 2 years to 10!

Lizards aren't creepy like some may think. They're not slimy, but you have to be careful not to touch the tail, that's where their backup food supply is and if you touch it and they get scared, it'll fall off.

Guinea pig sounds the best for you. They last longer than hamsters, get to be great companions and are SO cute. If they try to "talk" to you, they make cute little squeaks :)

    Hope this helps!

Guinea pigs are great if you have the time and space to care for them. They require a big cage. I would suggest building your own cage. Go to guineapigcages.com and they have instructions on how to make a cage for cheap or you can just buy one off the site. You also have to make sure that your guinea pig gets enough vitamin c every day. You can do that by either giving him fresh fruits and vegetables or vitamin c supplements. You also need to give him timothy hay every day to help digestion. They're really good pets if you can properly care for them. You can also teach them tricks. As for fish, I've had platys, mollys, and neon tetras, and they are beautiful community fish.

Chinchillas are GREAT pets. They live very long--- up to 15 years. They require playtime for at least 4 hours, though. If you're ready for the responsibility, then go for it! Or what about a Guinea pig? They're cool pets, too. Or a bird???

Well, your hermit crab did not die of old age.. Hermit crabs can live for 10-30 years, depending on the type, and the care required. Most common reason for them dying early is an improper environment.

I would suggest a gerbil, or rats, anyway.

well i would suggest a dog and i know you said that you were of afraid of them getting lost outside... well you could always train them with a pee-pee pad and if you were to ever take it outside out it on a leash. uhm another thing is you could get a turtle.. the are pretty cool. a rabbit would be good for you since you dont want a reptile, dog, hamster, ect. a spider monkey would be good for you too.

    hope this helps!!!!!!

please visit your local shelter to see if they have any for adoption - NEVER buy from a pet store.
