When writing an essay, it is important to determine the direction of the discussion you would like to take, if not, the tone of the composition will be to the effect of a free-written piece (usually done for private writing, diaries, trance writing, free writing, etc.). You could start off by deciding whether or not you agree with the statement. It also seems like the statement itself is an assertion, therefore, the person who assigned the topic might be implying that you should contemplate on how true the statement is (i.e., the emergence of confidence by asserting one's beliefs despite the consequences of social persecution and castration). The statement is an argument for individualism as opposed to hive mindedness and rigid conformity to general/popular expectations. Of course, there are arguments rooting for the other side of the spectrum, where over-individualism leads to egocentrism, social isolation, narcissism, and contempt for other people (think school shooters, terrorists, hermits, people who just hate other people). In any case, whatever your thoughts and opinions are, (remember it's your essay and aptly it should be obvious to you at this point) you should be confident about your thoughts - a life lesson that is asserted on the topic statement itself. The beauty of this all, in the field of "The Humanities", is that unlike math and the natural sciences, there are no exact answers or absolute standards about how one can view life. You can say what you believe in (although I hope for your restraint because vulgarity is also relative, there are people who can be easily offended) and hopefully, even if other people think your opinions are wrong, you'll find an equal number of people who agree with you as well. Good luck!

This is a quote from Peter T. Mcintyre. He does not seem to have much for a body of works but it seems as if everybody and their 3 legged dog has linked this to their website...or at least the perky people.
Being we are not looking up Mark Twain or anyone one else that has a biography and list of literary output, I will assume that the person that this quote is about...is you.
Is the quote correct if you applied it to your life? Can you think of a time that you fought the good fight because the thing that you were supporting was honorable and right, and because you, in your heart, knew it was honorable and right. Were able to stand up and fight harder, speak stronger, and stand your ground against something that was bigger, more powerful, or more entrenched than you?
If you can think of that time, then write about that. If you cannot think of anytime that you fought because you were afraid, then write about if this can help you. If you have never thought about fighting for someone being hurt, saving something or someone, helping something or someone, being stronger AND doing something for the right reasons then I guess you should write about that

intro-
introduce question...what you aim to answer and discuss.
briefly mention what confidence is and maybe even what a lack of confidence is...
signpost a structure of your essay i.e. firstly say this...then that...then this..etc etc, then conclude....etc...
mid-
u can talk about the issue that ppl tend to assume confidence is when ppl always think they r right etc...discuss how its an issue in society which may lead to ARROGANCE. thats the negative side...
then talk about how infact theres a POSITIVE side...where its actually going for whatevr it is you want without being fearful of getting it wrong...
just talk about how confidence is not only a word..or feeling..but it comes with many ideologies whereby people have different understandings of it..which can inturn be damaging...
interesting topic...thats all iv got im afraid.
good luck!

Unarguably Sachin is the final batsman of modern-day cricket( 1990+ ). yet he's not in a a techniques better league than the greats like Ponting,Lara,Kallis. basically that Sachin is bit extra advantageous than the others. yet many human beings think of that Sachin is incomparable ( God of cricket). you could not say he's selfish or not yet finding at his stats. he's a individual he make errors so according to danger he replaced into selfish in few fits (out of many hundred fits he performed), So what...?? Dhoni is stunning. If he can proceed to bat the way he batting now for 6 or 7 extra years, i visit cost him over even bigger than Sachin (ODI and T20). using fact the skill to take up rigidity like that..!! Wow no cricketer ever had that.

Since you are a girl and I think you could relate to it, I would suggest looking into articles written about young women and the battle they have with their self-confidence. It's a common issue with girls and I'm sure there are many articles about that. Probably in girls and womens magazines like YM, Vogue, Cosmo, Allure, Elle, W.
