How do I save xbox 360 games to my hard drive?
If you have a game saved to the hard drive, when, if ever, do you need the disk again?

If by save you mean install, then all you have to do is insert the disk in the tray, close the tray and then when an icon telling you to "Play (name of game)" comes up on the My Xbox channel of the Dashboard, press the Y button (game options) and a menu should come up. From this menu, select "Install Game" and it will install. Note that this only works if you have Auto-Play turned off (turn it off from the Settings first).
In order to play the game, you still need the disk to be inserted in the drive (even though the Xbox won't load the game from it).
