I have a HUGE canvas covered in chalk pastel. How do I prep it for a new life? Acrylic or oil paint...?

Do I clean it with water then gesso? THanks!

    Yes. Clear off the pastel with soap and water. Let dry. Then prime the canvas with gesso. Sounds like you answered your own question.

    Yes, just wash the pastel off, gesso the whole thing, then paint :D
