The legality of Modifying XP?
Hi'
I was bored and was tinkering about with a tablet PC with an external usb tuner installed. And inconsequentially via resources available on the web created and hashed together XP Ultimate I guess with full tablet and media center functions enabled and running.
I own and have the license for XP pro that's installed on it, But I understand that there may be less than desirable implications for my having made the modifications.
Thoughts.
P.S. I have the original install of XP pro mirrored and ready to replace if I done something fundamentally wrong "again I was bored" :).
Hi Brian,
Thanks for the heads up and even though it appears passed validation and updates with flying colors initially. That doesn't mean it will always do so thanks again for the info. :)

your licensing agreement for your XP Pro states that you do not have permission to modify or change the programming on it, during ramdom checks your system may report to MS that you have an illegal mod to your O/S and register your product as unlicensed.
