Is asexuality against Christianity?

The Bible says that we are to be fruitful and replenish the Earth... But I've heard a pastor say that God has a plan for people and sometimes that plan involves permanent abstinence.

Catholic nuns and monks practice abstinence, but they are still attracted to people in that way.

The Bible considers homosexuality a sexual perversion, but asexuals don't want anything to do with it. Asexual people know that they are a man/woman but simply don't have an interest in intimacy.

Is there any stance on asexuality in the Bible? I'm just curious. Thank you for your answers!

This question seemed kind of tricky to me, but you all produced good answers with simple logic.

Paul actually says in his Gospels that it is better to be unmarried than married - not because marriage is wrong, but because in marriage you have to care for someone else's intimate needs and temptations to sin are that much greater.

Paul was "asexual" and he was a man of God. So no, it's no against the Bible to be asexual. Being fruitful and replenishing the earth was a command given to Adam and to the nation of Israel, it's important to frame that in context as well. It's not a general commandment to get out there and hump like rabbits.

It is a person's choice if they want to have a marriage partner or if the want to stay single.

Remember the most well-known chapter in the bible of Adam and Eve. God created Eve because Adam was lonely.

    Genesis : 2 v 18 :

And the LORD God said, ''It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.''

in accordance to Christianity i'm tremendously specific. yet asexuality, satirically, is older than Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. historic Greece, Spartan infantrymen in coaching weren't punished for sexual kinfolk with different men in the barracks. as long because it stops after marriage

Mat 19:12 For some are eunuchs because they were born that way; others were made that way by men; and others have renounced marriage because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it."

No...it is even encouraged in the New Testament....if you can manage it. But not if you are married and your spouse is not of the same mind.

if logic can't beat religion, then nonsense is what's going to kill it. in 347 years from now, that's when there will be a collective mass suicide of the last few remaining religious people.
