If it cures old wounds and helps some of the people in Northern Ireland to move on, then I would suppose it is acceptable.

I have never supported the Tory party and have a very cynical view of politicians but I can say that David Camerons comments on the Bloody Sunday enquiry was right. He has raised the stature of Britain to its standing in the world as a fair upholder of the Rule of Law. A credit to the British people.

SARKY > It is a matter of fact that some of the soldiers lied. I am no way anti British soldier - I served with the Military Police.

I am Irish but i regard the British Army as the best in the world.

I dont even object to drinking in our local pub - The Oliver Cromwell - and he murdered half the Irish population !!!

But hey, lets not mention that.

No, David, as you call him, isn't wise enough.

It has taken over 30 years to bend the truth out of anyone and now the victims of Bloody Sunday are completely vindicated, they are going to be seeking compensation, and rightly so.

This is what happens when strategically shaved gorrilas are put in uniforms and given guns. They go about opening fire on who and what they like and then close ranks and sweep everything under the carpet and hope no one trips over the lump.

Well, we have tripped over the lump and it has taken over 30 years and £195,000,000 of taxpayers money to lift the carpet and discover what the lump is.

All David is doing is jumping on the bandwagon, pointing his finger at Gordon Brown and Tony Blair and saying "That's how you do it". Lets not forget who started the enquiry in the first place.

It takes a Dumb cluck like David to ride on the crest of the wave of other peoples successes.

I thought David Cameron's statement to Parliament was perfectly pitched and I rather suspect that it will be seen as one of the high points of his parliamentary career.

As someone who would never vote Tory, I was deeply impressed.

NO it is not acceptable and I most certainly do not want him apologising on my behalf.

The report is a load of rubbish.

It is politically motivated and takes no notice of what was actually happening at the time.

It totally discounts the versions all the squaddies gave and effectively calls them all liars.

It takes the witnesses account as all being genuine when it is a known fact that the majority of them had links to the IRA and also allowed known IRA members to not have to give evidence due to the "code" the IRA had.

    Just ridiculous.

They totally discounted the fact that Martin McGuiness was wondering around with and apparently fired a Thomson saying "that was not relevant". OF COURSE it was relevant.

They slated the squaddies for firing on two people who were acknowledged to have rifles.

They slated the squaddies for firing on someone who had already thrown petrol, nail and acid bombs saying he was not throwing one at the time etc etc etc.

Cameron was NOT apologising for all the nation and should never have given any apology at all.

When McGuinness and Adams and all the other terrorists apologise to the 600 squaddies killed during "the troubles" and all the Irish civilians they brutalised then maybe just maybe things can move on.

I think it was decent of him to do such a thing. Ive always admired Cameron although I would never vote tory.

We look forward in eager anticipation to receiving the appropriate apologies from Gerry Adams and his cohorts for the indiscriminate murder of innocent civilians including women and children in mainland Britain by him and his IRA friends. Perhaps then we can all have some closure.
