What ever happened to gibs?

Remember Quake when you'd get someones health down then hit them with a rocket and cover the floor with bit o' them?

Now, it seems that every game just uses that ragdoll physics so people just fall down.

Where did the gibs go?

Games got 'realistic' and I use that term loosely. Ludicrous gibs in FPS might be a thing of the past.

However, the God of War series seems to offer plenty of opportunities for giblature.
