Do you believe everyone in the US should have to pass the citizenship test as part of high school curriculum?
or by 18 if you choose not to/are not able to graduate? Should we be required to pass same test that all legal immigrants take and swear to the same oath that legal immigrants do?
Link to sample test questions - http://usgovinfo.about.com/blinstst.htm
Link to oath - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oath_of_Allegiance_%2...
This oath may be of interest to those who refer to themselves as (nationality)-Americans.
9 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoWhich horrific crime is worse?
Smoking in public or puppy strangulation?
I know historically puppy strangulation has been considered worse, but since it has been proven that just standing near someone smoking will kill you dead immediately people get pretty frickin' upset about smoking in public so I'm not sure any more.
7 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhen did "home schooled" become a put down?
Home schooled children have consistently done better on tests and performed at a higher level than their public school counterparts.
I wasn't home schooled so this isn't me being personally offended, I'm just wondering when a public school government education was suddenly considered superior.
I understand it comes from the "grrrr all Christians bad grrrrr" mentality because it is generally associated with Christians, but historically people have agreed that what home schooled children lose in social education they make up for in quality and quantity of book learnin'.
Or is this just a commonly used cheap shot that isn't really supposed to make sense?
I ask this in the Politics section because this is where I consistently see it used as a put down.
11 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHas anyone ever been born with their taste buds in the wrong place?
Sometimes people are unfortunately born with certain irregularities so has anyone ever been born with taste buds in their colon or on their feet?
3 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoDue to this "Community Center" uproar, can we finally get Liberals to say something good about the US?
This would be a non-issue in many if not all majority Muslim countries because they do not have the laws protecting religious freedoms that America does. America is founded on freedoms and as this mosque is built it will show that although many may oppose it, the rights guaranteed by the Constitution will still override the personal feelings of a group of citizens.
Now just for fun, tell me how you feel about the US in comparison to the majority Muslim theocracies around the world.
16 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhen gay marriage is inevitably legalized?
Who will will benefit from the ridiculously lopsided rules of divorce? Traditionally the woman got everything and the guy was blamed for everything no matter what. Now if it's two women who do they blame? Who gets the stuff? Or if its two guys how do they divide the stuff? Does the more effeminate male get the bounty?
10 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoAt what point does this become slander or libel?
It's been explained to death that people have a problem with ILLEGAL immigration but support wholeheartedly LEGAL immigration. Assuming that some of the people on the extreme left are able to read at what point does continually and knowingly referring to people as "anti-immigrant" or "anti-immigration" become libel or slander.
11 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoSeriously, what is with people and Catcher in the Rye?
The book is mediocre at best. I read a lot and I'd like to think I am quite able to recognize a good book when I read it but I see nothing of exceptional value or particular insight anywhere between the covers.
I've tried three times now to see what others see and I just don't think it's there.
1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade agoLiberals + Islam v Liberals + Christianity?
When Pat Robertson or another fringe religious leader says something inflammatory, liberals apply his personal beliefs to all Christians, the entire Republican party and the entire southeast region of the United States.
When 19 Muslims crash an airplane into a building killing 3,000 innocent civilians and Muslims around the world cheer and celebrate, burn American flags, issue future threats while other 'moderate' Muslims refuse to condemn these acts, liberals maintain that we should not judge all the religion's adherents by the acts of a few.
12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoShould all union workers be encouraged to refuse to do work on the Ground Zero mosque?
Sure they have a right to build it, but people also have a right to choose not to help. Why don't union members show some solidarity and refuse to lay a single brick for the unwanted mosque?
Sure the Imam & co may go to non-union labor, but supposedly those guys aren't well qualified so they'll end up with a crappy building.
They are doing this solely as an antagonistic act, so why should anyone help them?
7 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoRemember when Liberals used to be good?
They would organize charities to feed the hungry or petition the government to install wheelchair ramps in all Federal buildings so the disabled would have easy access to the buildings or maybe start a community garden in an impoverished area to help clean it up a little. They did nice things that others didn't think of or weren't willing to do.
Now they seem to sit around watching TV and taking notes to ensure that gays are adequately represented in sitcoms, encouraging criminal activity among our Mexican neighbors and showing the world that no matter the economic situation, or First Lady can take a vacation worthy of any European queen.
What the hell happened to you guys?
4 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoHow do Liberals reconcile these beliefs?
A majority of Americans support the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan
A majority of Americans want universal health care
A majority of Americans are ignorant
10 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoAnyone else like Sarah Palin just because of the people who hate her?
I don't agree with everything she believes but she seems to deeply anger the misinformed and bring forth even more hatred and vitriol than usual from the Left so I can't help thinking that there is something truly awesome about her. Just when I thought some of her political opposition couldn't possibly have any more irrational anger left, *BOOM* Ms. Palin arrives and I am shown that yes, there is a bottomless well of irrational anger and hatred on the left.
12 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoIs there a law against naming your dog something totally inappropriate?
Not necessarily vulgar, but inappropriate like naming a dog 'Rape' and then standing in the front lawn yelling Rape!!!' Rape!! Rape!! C'mere Rape!!
Is there a particular law that would apply when your neighbors inevitably call the police?
7 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoShould George Bush pay?
Since George Bush started the Nazi party to kill the Mexican slaves. do you think he owes the feminists reiterations?
1 AnswerCurrent Events1 decade agoWhat ever happened to gibs?
Remember Quake when you'd get someones health down then hit them with a rocket and cover the floor with bit o' them?
Now, it seems that every game just uses that ragdoll physics so people just fall down.
Where did the gibs go?
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games1 decade agoDidja notice the occasional ad on the right of your Y!A page?
The Hebrew National ad? They show a picture of a hot dog with ketchup! That is disgusting.
Hebrew National makes good hot dogs and they should know better. Isn't putting ketchup on a hot dog just as bad as drowning puppies?
1 AnswerOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoWhy is one dogmatism considered acceptable and why?
1. I say the word Goddamn and the lady behind me at a coffee shop calls me "sinner".
