This plant is in my garden in central Mexico.

It looks like an agave to me, but try as I might I can't find exactly which variety it is. Anyway, and a bit off topic, the Madagascar palm behind it (on the left) is cool... and dangerous. I had one that was about 3 feet tall and one time I stumbled backwards and landed right on top of it, knocking it sideways out of it's pot. I plucked thorns from my bum for 3 days. Ouch!
But yeah, I'm pretty sure the plant you're wondering about is an agave.

a wild guess, this.... I think itmight be a member of the Kalanchoe's...(Crassulaceae).
