WC Refs! do you think "cards" are being shown more than the norm?

Oh yes. That klose sending off in the Germany Serbia match was ridiculous. And the Americans should have that goal allowed in their match. It was outrageous refereeing.

No I've seen worse in the early stages of previous world cups. The problem is inconsistency and that some referees are really not up to the task. Some are overawed by the occasional and some are simply conned by the players.

Today's Germany v Serbia game was a good example. A referee who basically gave a yellow for the first foul and then had to do the same for every foul after that. It was only a matter of time before someone went. But, the worst thing, was that after the sending off, he let fouls go that were a lot worse than Klose's. I think he was frightened that each team would be down to 8 a side.

I doubt that many WC refs are in here to answer that.

The problem (as always) is the inconsistency. The ref in the Germany-Serbia game handed out NINE yellow cards and a red, and maybe 2 of the yellows were acceptable.

They weren't being doled out so much in the earlier matches but it's getting a bit out of hand now. The ref in the Germany/Serbia match was far too glad to give cards in the first half and then only two in the second. Inconsistency is the name of his game

Yes, i agree. This is taking the true"Playing of the game away". The players are frightened to play real soccer in case they are "Carded"

I agree... The refs are being ridiculous here.. I mean, more like ruthless!!! 9 yellows plus one red!!! WTH!! Atrocious!!!
