What is the symbolism behind the head bobbing and hand gestures when getting in someones face?
For those who have ever started a verbal fight with a cashier because they wouldn't give you a discount, what is the symbolism behind the hand gestures and the head bobbing from left to right?
If any people who know sign language could translate this body language I would appreciate it.
@ willy tk Ive never been at level 4.

Ok lol I've never gotten in a verbal fight with a cashier, but it's probably about intimidation, like they're tying to make you flinch.

I've never started such a senseless fight, but I have certainly been a target of a customer's frustrations.
My interpretation is as follows:
The head bobbing is similar to the aggressive movements of a bird protecting their young or fighting over a potential mate. The bobbing is meant to confuse the opponent because they are unable to follow the trajectory of the beak into said opponent's eye. Hand gestures also figure into my bird theory because hands symbolize feathers. Flopping them around makes the attacker seem larger and makes it feel dominant.
All for a 10 percent discount.

The gestures you describe are not sign language. What happened to level 4? Oh, that's right. Sorry.

People use it to get a rise out of their opponent. Using hand gestures and head bobbing in front of your opponent pisses them off. I don't like people getting on my face.

these 'gestures' purely 'symbolize/ that the person warranting them, cannot, in fact, control themselves;; if your looking for body language, it's simply not a hidden meaning...very extroverted...

It's a symbol of "Imma kick your áss."
Obviously.
Edit: Body language translation: Imma kick your áss.
