    I don't like it because it's a Mac.

    i don't like it...it has serious heat issues.

    @elpasi2/addition:

    the fact that it uses laptop components really only means two things, you won't see thermal damage as readily and everything is underclocked to reduce heat and power drain.

    the more pertinent fact is, heat degrades performance(on all computer components) with a laptop i'm willing to put up with that for the portability a laptop offers, but while the mac mini is obviously more portable then a full fledged desktop, it is not on the same level as a laptop. i won't except that level of heat. i don't even except it from the laptop, i modify all my laptops, so they get better air flow, pulling the ambient temperature down 5 degrees or so.

    perhaps i'll get one, drill a hole in the top and get a rather large fan pulling air, and then drill some vents on the sides...but in that price range i should already be getting something like that.

    The newest specification mac mini is really nice. High Capacity SD card slot, HDMI out, faster processor, nice graphics, easy user replacable RAM... I've had an opportunity to use one, and the second I get money at the end of the month, one will be mine. I have an older 2007 one and that's going to be retired to make a tiny server for the house.

    Heat isn't a problem. Yes, they run hot, but all the components are made to withstand the heat by diversion and using laptop components that expect less cooling.

    No. It is overpriced for the hardware you get.
