Got the job- haven't gotten schedule yet?

YES I am very eager! (ha ha ha)

okay, details?

Had interview last tuesday@ torrid, followed up two days after interview (the thursday), supervisor (who also interviewed me) was not in, left a message

Went in that Friday she was in!!!

So we talked, she showed me she got the message

said she wasn't too sure if she should call me on a Friday (you know, it being a Friday& all)

Anyway, called me off to the side and she was just as awesome as she was during the interview

Said she wanted to put me on the team, discussed from there (basically I got the job in word but to keep in the DL)

I was told by her that she hasn't called anyone else yet - other decisions were not made

So from there the supervisor said that she wanted to put me on that week but the "higher ups" would not allow so yet

So she said she would contact me and hope to have me in by the first week of July

My question/problem is

Should I keep in touch about this?

Or be patient and wait until its closer to July?

Thank you for reading

Update:

@ikuyiasoznas

Thank you for the reply!

About the "Saying they want you on their team but cannot commit yet due to "other decisions"......on purpose" part

I thought about that too, but my sisters friend who was a manager there about 2.5 weeks ago (quit due to personal reasons) said its a really good sign and to trust her on it.

I'm just, "really eager". I'll have to be patient and wait for that call since I do know they are very busy in there and her schedule can get cramped due to lack of workers (hence why they are hiring three people)

From what I've heard from the current employees@ Torrid is that she has not called anyone yet, and they haven't had any sort of follow-up from other potentials

Hoping that's a good sign that i'm on the ball!!!

I think I will go by possibly next Friday :D

Speaking only for myself, it might be better for you to wait for a bit. Since she wants you to be a member of their team and told you so BEFORE other decisions have been made, that says that she must like you quite a bit. She probably couldn't tell you definitely because of these "other decisions" and it could be that they may not have finished interviewing all the applicants yet. By law (I think) an employer has to interview all the applicants for a job. This could be the case for your situation.

This could sound silly to some, but some employers might do this: Saying they want you on their team but cannot commit yet due to "other decisions"......on purpose. She may (or may not have, but you never know) told this same thing to other applicants (for the same job) just to see who does nothing, who follows up but waits too long and the position fills or who follows up in a timely manner. I would most definitely follow up, but maybe wait for a week or so. I know you are eager to get started but I would hate for her to think you are too eager.

You obviously seem like you have your "head on your shoulders" and have been doing the right thing. Best of luck to you and I will keep my fingers crossed!!!

Wait until July, if she doesn't call you until the end of that first week feel free to give her a call, but don't make yourself seem to eager, it's always good to make it seem like they need you just as much as you need them. Best of luck to you! Hope that she calls soon!
