Why is my gay guy friend hitting on me? (I'm straight female)?
I have this gay guy friend online. I met him because he was looking for "female friends" and since I wasn't dating, gay guy friend seemed the safe bet. So we become friends. He has a partner. And now, he's started hitting on me overtly. I humor him and flirt back but always bringing it back to the fact that he's gay. Still, he presses on -- sexually and relationship wise -- although he still loves Celine Dion, lol.
I'm confused here. He's supposed to be my GAY GUY FRIEND (a.k.a sanctuary from all the bad boys who break my heart, etc). Why is he hitting on me? Is this some kind of gay guy fantasy that sometimes they want to feel "straight"? Is he playing with me? I don't know whether to take this seriously or not though I wouldn't mind exploring it if he "turned straight" because he is yummy, smart, good looking and all that. So please clue me in. I've never been in this situation before. I don't know whether to feel betrayed or flattered.
PS: (to the one who answered that I must be BI -- umm, no. but i'm curious as to why you would think that so elaborate por favor)

Have you ever considered that maybe you're hot enough to 'change his mind'?

This type of people have no shame. They believe totally into gays being just as normal as you and I. They think gays have the right to hit on females just to get their kicks. Some gay guys may still want sex with females occasionally, but their agenda there is to just prove they are still male in nature and nothing more.

With all the hate out there towards gays, most even though they've admitted they are gay feel they need to change to make the world happy. This is not true! I reckon he is just confused about wanting to fit in and sees you as an opportunity to prove hes straight. That's just my opinion. My advice to you talk to him and just say " why are you hitting on me your gay!" but in a joking way. If he takes it badly just say you don't understand why hes htting on you when hes gay. He could be bi?
