Getting our Solar Panels this Friday!!! Who else has them or is considering?

I am so glad we will be mostly powered by the sun, goodbye coal fired power station - so glad to be independent!!! Prices here in Australia are set to rise enormously over the next 6 years......not at my place!!! Who else is going solar?

Update:

It will take about 4 years to pay off, then we will make about $2,000.00 per year from the panels, and they are made to last 20 to 30 years. No Batteries it connects straight to the grid. Some of you need to update your information on solar and renewables!!!

I'm heating my house with solar thermal!! I've cut my electric bill in half by using the heat of the sun to heat the air and water in my house. Free heat!!!! It's amazing!

Not a chance until environmentalist pay for them. The cost of replacing batteries every 2-3 years and replacing the panels in 20 years really doesn't make it worth while. (quoted from Peter) DAaaa!

You don't have to have batteries. You can be grid-tied and the system will pay for itself in about 15 years but who wants that? I mean you only have 5 YEARS OF FREE PANELS LEFT!!!! Actually today's panels are made to last 30 so 15 years after the system has paid itself off you are getting free power. WHO WANTS THAT? THAT'S JUST STUPID,ISN'T IT PETER?

I use solar and wind for 99% of my electricity. I do have a small diesel generator that has 91 hours on it, and I have had it for 2 years. LED lights really help when using solar.
