What is the simplest way of transferring files and photos from old laptop to new laptop?

I asked this a few days ago and someone said to use an usb but I don't have a clue what that is or how to do it.. My old laptop mainly has my income tax files and photos on it.. Can someone please explain it so this granny can understand it? Thank you in advance..

    i would say using a flash drive also called a USB and thumb drive would be a very helpful way of transferring this device can transfer things from one computer to another you can store your pictures and whatever els you need to on it depending on how much GB your transferring depends on which one you should buy if you have a lot of things you need to transfer then the USB may cost more if you can't really afford one of the more expensive ones i recommend buying the one you can afford and putting as much as you can on it then transferring it to your new laptop, deleting the memory on the flash drive and putting more on from your old laptop and keep repeating until you transfer all of it. you can buy one at almost anywhere such as walmart, target, bestbuy, and other stores with an electronics section if this information didn't clear it all up then you can speak to someone in the section of the store about it or take a look at it on this site for an example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_flash_drive hope this helps

    you can buy a external hard drive from bestbuy plug the external harddrive into the old laptop drag and drop the stuff you want to put on the new then plug it into the new laptop and drag and drop all the old files onto the new laptop

    Un buen teclado es muy importante a la hora de emplear un ordenador, la mejor oferta del mercado se encuentra en los sitios web, yo había comprado antes un teclado de sitios web y he sido muy encantada con el pero como tengo un problema con tantos cables quería un teclado sin cable, el teclado que he comprado es excelente, tiene baterías con unas buenas horas de funcionamiento, las teclas son planas y muy silenciosas, la iluminación es perfecta, en una palabra es una compra muy buena
