Is there a way to avoid using V Cast with Verizon using Linux and/or Wine?

I have the LG Chocolate touch and I'm trying to put songs onto the phone without using Vcast. From my understanding you are required to buy the songs from them or transfer purchased songs from Itunes to Vcast and then your phone. Is there a way where I can just put some f****** mp3s on the phone without going through these loops? Oh btw, to make things more complex I'm running Linux mint 9

Try Bitpim. http://www.bitpim.org/#download You'll probably need a data cable (you can find them on Amazon for about $2.)

Don't have the chocalate - but I do have the Voyager (planning on getting the EnV Touch this August).

I never use Vcast. All of my music is from the PC.

    You need to

    *install a micro_SD card

*connect to your computer using a USB cable

*sync the phone to the computer (should be under "tools")

    * the sd card will "show" in windows explorer. Look for a folder called my music. Just copy and paste your DRM-free songs into that folder

*disconnect and check for the music on the phone.

I did the same thing for my daughter's Samsung reality - assume they work the same way.
