Accidentally paid at a gas pump w/ broken security seal?
When I finished fueling, I noticed the security seal had been broken. I immediately called my bank to cancel my card. I should be OK right?
1 AnswerCredit10 years agoHow to address opposite family members in wedding shower thank you notes?
If I'm writing a thank you note for my fiance's aunt and uncle, how should address the letter:
Dear Aunt (Name) & Uncle (Name)
or
Dear Name & Name
It's confusing because the note is really from both of us, but only one of us is technically related to them.

1 AnswerSmall Business10 years agoHSBC Yamaha Card Title?
I have a Yamaha R6 that I paid off on June 14th, 2011. My balance is now $0. I was told to wait 30 days for my title. 30 days has passed, and cannot get HSBC on the phone. Do I have any recourse?
1 AnswerCredit10 years agoSole Propietor or LLC?
I currently work full time, but I want to start moonlighting a legitimate IT consulting business. I will be bootstrapping the business, running out of my home, and will not be taking out any loans. This business will be funded with my own cash. I expect pretty low revenues the first year since I will be doing this part time starting out. Should I still form an LLC, or would I be OK to start as a sole propietor.
My thoughts are that once the business picks up and I'm making some money, I can form an LLC or incorporate at that point.
3 AnswersSmall Business10 years agoWhich OS should be installed first for dual boot? Windows 7 or Linux Mint 9?
Most tutorials have Win 7 installed first (most likely because they are pre-installed on machines), but I only have linux on my machine now. I have 320 gb HDD with 5 partitions: 12gb -- ext4 (main OS), 2gb -- swap, three other ext4 partitions that I use for my data. The last partition is an empty ext4, so could I format that as NFTS (roughly 100gb) and install win 7 on that one?
4 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoHow to get CD quality distorted guitar on Audacity?
I'm running Audacity v1.3.12 on Linux Mint. I'm trying to get a nice quality hard rock sound (i.e. Sevendust). I will record clean guitar, and then use hard clipping 8x oversampled plugin. It does well at adding enough gain, but it sounds like there is too much treble noise (I can't seem to fix this with EQ) after doing so, and ends up sound amature. This effect is not isolated to direct line in (which is what I'm doing). Any help?
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoAverage length of commute from Lawrenceville, GA to Marietta, GA in rush hour?
I'm contemplating taking a job in Marietta. On average, how long does it take to drive through rush hour from Lawrenceville to Marietta (morning), and reverse in the evening? Or if you don't have that figure, give me an average of 285W to 75N (morning) and 285E to 85N (evening).

3 AnswersFinancial Aid1 decade agoIs there a way to avoid using V Cast with Verizon using Linux and/or Wine?
I have the LG Chocolate touch and I'm trying to put songs onto the phone without using Vcast. From my understanding you are required to buy the songs from them or transfer purchased songs from Itunes to Vcast and then your phone. Is there a way where I can just put some f****** mp3s on the phone without going through these loops? Oh btw, to make things more complex I'm running Linux mint 9
2 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoHow to document unofficial work experience?
I'm trying to do a career change. I'm currently a copier service technician and I'm trying to break into network administration. I have some experience with networking due to working with networked copiers/printers. I also have done research on the matter on my own time. The problem is, "my own time" was not formal education or an actual job. How do I place this in my resume?
1 AnswerComputer Networking1 decade agoMicrosoft Windows stability and efficiency? (try to be unbiased)?
Although many people might disagree with me, it seems that Windows has always had stability issues, high resource requirements, and security holes. I kinda understand the security issues (hackers are going to attack the most popular software), but since Microsoft is such a large company and makes tons of money, why is there a lot open source software available that is often times more stable, lighter weight, and just as capable (example: firefox).

1 AnswerTiVO & DVRs1 decade agoDo you think US should tax the crap out of China imports?
I haven't researched it, but to help improve the economy, I think our import tax should be extremely high (especially for China). I think it should be so high that American products easily compete with it. If this were to be implemented it would: 1) Keep more jobs in the US, 2) keep more money in the US, and 3) decrease the nation's debt faster. What are your opinions?
4 AnswersOther - Taxes1 decade agoHow to deal with traffic?
I am a GA native (Atlanta area), and I have been working downtown for the past 6 months (I live in Lawrenceville about 30 miles away. Traffic here sux and it's going to be the death of me unless I find a way to cope. Don't suggest getting a job closer to home, with the unemployments at what they are, that's a retarded suggestion.

2 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoHow to backup dvds in k9copy?
I'm using Linux Mint 8, and I've successfully created an ISO, but when I burned it to a DVD, it will only play on my Linux desktop. I can't play it on my blu ray player nor win xp. The file extensions in the DVD are VOB...but I thought an ISO would create an exact image of the original and thus "look" the same to any dvd player.
I know that some dvd players won't recognize certain types of DVDs like -R, +R, etc...But I know my Blu Ray player accepts all of them, because I used to backup DVDs with dvd shrink when I was using Windows.
I know I could use Wine and run DVD shrink, but I want to try to get this to work first.

1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoCSS question for those proficient in the language?
I'm learning CSS, but I can't figure out how to "columnize" (for lack of a better term) and center web content. Take for example this yahoo answers webpage (using 1280x1024 res): how do I create a website so that the outside borders are a certain background color that I choose, while the content is another background color?
3 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoHow would you like a website to be laid out?
As far as layout and content would you rather have an information laden website such as yahoo's homepage? Or something simplistic like google? More specifically, I'm speaking in regards to a website containing recipes, but I used the yahoo vs. google as an analogy.
