There was a film or TV show that referenced Mrs. Malaprop....?
But I can't remember what it is. I want to say that it was a girl that made a joke and then had to explain what a Malapropism was. Something like "It's a Malapropism...like Mrs. Malaprop." I don't know. My friends all think I'm nuts and maybe I am.

I don't know the TV show, but the name comes from the 1775 comedy, The Rivals, by Richard Sheridan. It introduced the humorous character, Mrs. Malaprop. Her name comes from the French mal à propos, which means inappropriate. The self-educated Mrs. Malaprop was always substituting a similar-sounding word for the word that she intended to use.

Emily Deschanel said it on 'This Just Out' with Liz Feldman.
