The real question is this: did you burn the actual ISO file onto the DVD or did you download an ISO burner that burned the file system image onto your DVD? There is a difference, and I'm not sure from your answer if you understood that. Just burning on the file would not accomplish anything. If you do not have an ISO burner available, there are many software downloads available for this for free. Here is one example:

First, you toss the DVD in the trash.

Seconds, you download a program called DaemonToolsLite

Third, after installing the program you mount the ISO in daemon tools, this make s the computer believe that it is physically mounted in a DVD drive in the computer. After that, the ISO will run just like a normal installation disk would.

Edit: This will give you the ability to use ISO's in the future with out burning them to a DVD.

If you burnt it properly (as a disk image onto a DVD) then it is just a simple matter of inserting it and running the setup program (if it doesn't auto run).

If you didn't burn as a disk image, but as a data CD then use software to mount the ISO itself (like daemon tools as one person suggested).

    Hey there,

If you are searching for Daemon Tools you can download it for free here http://bitly.com/1xTEV8o

It's the best software of its kind.

installing is quite easy. Its like any other dvd.

Install the program directly from the dvd drive.

Put the dvd in your drive and let it autorun. If it doesn't autorun, open windows explorer and go to your dvd drive and look for any instructions or setup.exe file.
