What Are Some Life Style Changes Can I Make to Lose Weight?

(Sorry for the long description, you can skip to the questions if you want)

I'm a 17 year old girl and I'm overweight. I'm between 5'4" and 5'5" and last time I checked I was 160lb. I want to get rid of the weight and become in-shape, or at least, thin. I have a stomach but I'm able to suck it in all day long, but I'm tired of doing that, I want my stomach to REALLY be flat.

So, for starters, for a 17y-old female that's between 5'4" and 5'5", what is the proper weight? (Oh I forgot to mention, that I'm pretty busty so does that also account into my weight?)

I want to make some changes in my life so that I become thinner and in-shape because I want to be healthier before I become so old that losing weight becomes way too hard.

So here are my questions:

1) What are food are good for losing weight?

2) Are there any drinks that are good for losing weight besides water?

3) How much water should I drink a day?

4) What should I do if I go over the 2000 calorie limit?

5) About how long should it take for me to get down to my proper weight?

6) What are some exercises I can do daily to help but won't take up too much time? (I'm too busy to sit in front of a TV, stretching)

Please help

    http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

thats a bmi indicator. u type in ur weight and height and it tells u ur body mass index, and all the info is right there.

    1) whole grains, milk, fruit, veggies, brocceli, high in protein, lean meats, etc. mixed nuts, etc.

    2) no...stay away from sugary drinks and natural fruit ones are good

    3) u should drink about 8 glasses a day, but 5-8 is practical

    4) watch ur calories, each meal should be about 400 calories with 1 or 2 100 calorie snacks a day. dont eat because ur bored! enjoy your food and eat when youre hungry (and sometimes ur just thirsty, so drink something when ur 'hungry') and if u go over, im not gonna say to starve urself. just eat portion controlled size amounts, and no fast food! a juicy apple tastes better than a sugary snickers bar! watch ur portions!

    5) idk, a few month probably

    6) run around the neighborhood, get an aerobics dvd, dance to music, find a friend to do this w/ u. google some exercises or youtube them (personally, i do yoga! i love the bryan kest dvds)

stay healthy, drink water, eat whole grains&fruits &veggies, no fast food or sugar at all, itll seem hard at first but later itll be a habit and candy wont even taste that good anymore!

    1) What foods are good for losing weight? Fruits and Vegetables for lots of vitamins and such. Water is a good thing too. It helps with hunger. Drink many glasses of water a day. Also, protein helps you to stay full. Have small snacks handy to help curb cravings.

    2) Are there any drinks that are good for losing weight, besides water? Switch to a lower percentage of fat in milks and other dairy products you drink. Juices such as Apple Juice and Cranberry Juice have a low enoug acidity to be consumed on a daily basis. Consider buying these on your next shopping trip. PS: Apple sauce is great.

    3) How much water should I drink a day? I would say it depends. If you are very hungry and thirsty, as much as you want or need. I generally to not get too hungry, and I drink 5 glasses or so a day. If I exercised more, I would drink more water to compensate. Be sure to get enough.

    4) What should I do if I go over the 2000 calorie limit? Just try to do something productive (fold laundry, work in teh garden, wash the dog, walk to the store...) in order to keep your blood flowing. This will help your meal to digest more instead of the way it does when you might rest after a meal. If you are active, have you tried light jogging or walking after a meal?

    5) About how long should it take for me to get down to my proper weight? A loss of a few lbs per week can be healthy, in my eyes. I would say 2 to 3 pounds a week is the most you would want to loose, in order to be sure you are making healthy, lasting changes in your life.

    6) What are some exercises I can do daily to help but won't take up too much time? If you are busy, just be sure to drink a lot of water and get enough vitamins!! It is important to squeeze in a few extra fruits in the morning (think banana and honey in your favorite cereal, or blueberries with toast or yogurt). Don't waste breakfast on donuts and lattes. Get fruit and a coffee with light creamer and real sugar (no Splenda!**) Once you have a lot of vitamins and fruit in your blood, you should be able to do a quick walk, wherever convenient (is there a park to walk to and back? Is there and errand you could do without your car? Can you try to be efficient and get in and out of the Grocery store under 20 minutes? Keep up your heart rate, but make sure (#1) that you are feeling healthy and fine. Do not push yourself if you are feeling over worked or about to faint.

Plan your food. seek for healthful, scrumptious food on line or on your cookbooks, and create a menu for the week. be certain that your meal plan reduces your complete calorie intake: you're unlikely to shed pounds in case you eat an identical volume of energy by using ingesting diverse meals. Make a itemizing of what you will want for those food, and -- different than for some snacks, needless to say -- do no longer stray out of your checklist once you get to the marketplace. making plans your food helps be certain you get a balanced food plan and decreases the temptation to provide up off for prompt food or order a pizza. undergo in strategies, it truly is much less stressful to adhere on your paying for checklist in case you save once you're no longer hungry.
